About

About Us and What we Do

The Bishops Cleeve Players have performed in a variety of venues in the Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury areas and our most recent productions have included our very popular ‘Scottish Evening’ in January – now in its sixth year, ‘The Mystery of Marsham Grange’ a light hearted look at the murder mystery genre and latterly our family pantomime, ‘If the Slipper Fits’.  We pride ourselves on writing much of the material ourselves and indeed the pantomime was very much a collaborative production.  Some of our performances have been for local charities where we work in partnership to raise funds. Besides charity organisations we have performed for other local groups and organisations at village halls and hotels.

We are always pleased to welcome new members. If you would like to entertain others and enjoy yourself in a friendly group then go to our membership page and get in touch via the contact form.

Away from the drama, there is also, of course, a social side. We tend to enjoy the rehearsals almost as much as our audiences enjoy the shows. The occasional social events such as a BBQ, theatre visits and quiz nights are just an excuse to have fun. Given that not every member can make time for every performance these, together with a regular Newsletter and Email help to make sure we keep in touch with each other even when we are not in production.
